Research Interests

  • Perinatal exposure to lifestyle and environmental factors and overweight/allergy development in infancy: Impact of nutritional compounds (e.g. vitamin D) and epigenetics
  • Research questions are addressed in a translational setting combining data from human epidemiological cohort studies with mechanistic investigations via disease associated stem cell culture models (adipocyte differentiation from mesenchymal stem cells, eosinophil/basophil progenitor cell differentiation/hematopoietic stem cells (Stem cells in Allergy and Obesity)
  • Influence of nutritional compounds on atherogenesis and lipid metabolism
