Environmental Change and Research Networks
Many environmental factors undergoing change at the same time. For example, the Earth is warming on average and some ecosystems are experience more droughts, the nutrient nitrogen is released to the atmosphere through the burning of fossil fuels and farming practices and can pollute water and cause species to go extinct, and invasive species have spread to new ecosystems. Some questions that we work on include:
- how do multiple environmental changes interact in unexpected ways?
- the environmental challenges affect the whole planet; how can we work collaboratively and globally to address these challenges?
