Research interests
I work on the biology and ecology of pollinating insects (mainly Apiformes) and the stressors they face in modern, intensively used agricultural landscapes. My current focus is on the short and long-term influence of pesticide exposure and heat stress on the population dynamics of Bumble bees and other wild bees and, connected to that, the ecosystem services they provide and the influence on plant-pollinator-networks.
I am also interested in the interdisciplinary combination and development of novel methodological approaches (e.g. for landscape modelling, agent-based modelling, field methods, meta-analyses, etc.)
