Forschungsinteressen
Dr. Carolin Huber hat ihren Forschungsschwerpunkt in Umweltchemie und Humanbiomonitoring (Exposomics). Ihre Expertise liegt in der Entwicklung fortschrittlicher Analysetechniken, einschließlich non-target und suspect screening-Methoden, zur Identifizierung neuer Schadstoffe und ihrer Metaboliten in biologischen Proben wie Urin, Blut und Muttermilch sowie in Staub und Abwassereinleitungen. Sie verwendet Flüssigkeits- und Gaschromatographie gekoppelt mit hochauflösender Massenspektrometrie (GC/HPLC-HRMS) sowie automatisierte Arbeitsabläufe für die Datenanalyse.
In ihrer aktuellen Arbeit analysiert sie Kohorten und Abwassereinflüsse mit Hochdurchsatz-Probenmessungen und computergestützter Datenanalyse, um die Exposition gegenüber neu aufkommenden Schadstoffen zu bestimmen und die Quelle dieser Substanzen zu verstehen. Weitere Techniken sind Inkubationsexperimente zur Bestimmung des Metabolismus und der Marker für die Belastung durch Chemikalien wie Pestizide und Inhaltsstoffe von Körperpflegeprodukten.
Außerdem entwickelt sie Messroutinen und Datenintegrationsstrategien für die TIMS-Massenspektrometrie (Trapped Ion Mobility), um die analytischen Möglichkeiten bei der Expositionsbestimmung von Mensch und Umwelt zu verbessern.
