Research Interests
- Stable isotope labeling (13C, 15N) of soil microbes
Metagenome and metatranscriptome of soil microbes
- Isolation and characterization of microbes from soils
- Omic analysis of soil ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA)
- Effects of climate changes on soil microbial community structure and function
Research Projects
In this project, we want to explore the relationship between microbial diversity and functions in global soil samples from iSBio Consortium.
Global Change Experimental Facility (GCEF)
In this project, we want to understand the effects of climate change and land use on soil microbial diversity and function at the GCEF platform.
Techniques
- Isotope labeling methods (13CO2 and 15N2)
- Microbial community and function analyses (amplicon sequencing)
- Meta-omics approach (metagenome, metatranscriptome)
- Mass spectrometry analysis (NanoSIMS, IRMS)
