Current Research Project

PhD Research Project entitled “Molecular characterization of the microbiome in the root zone of a Clonal Oak Tree used as an indicator system (PhytOakmeter) across different field sites in central Germany and Europe”.

This study is nested within the ongoing PhytOakmeter project of the Department of Soil Ecology at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ whose overall goal is to study land use effects at the regional scale (TERENO in the Harz Mountain) and the impact of climate along a European transect, and analyse how soil microbiome communities enable oak tree to adapt to modified environmental conditions.
