Pia Spreckelsen
Pia Spreckelsen has been working as a research and technical associate in the Department of Cell Toxicology at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) since June 2026. Her main responsibilities include the cultivation of human and mammalian cells as well as the performance of cell-based reporter gene bioassays.
She completed her Master's degree in Genomic Biotechnology at the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida. She completed her Master's thesis on the topic "Integration and optimization of a chemiluminescent assay on a microfluidic platform". During her thesis, as well as during her subsequent work as a student assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology (IZI) in the MicroDiagnostics working group, she gained extensive experience in the field of point-of-care diagnostics and the development of immunoassays in microfluidic systems.
