Yohan completed a Bachelor's degree in Environmental science and a Master's degree in Ecotoxicology. His Master's thesis focused on the aquatic toxicity of a plasticiser metabolite. For his doctoral degree, Yohan undertook studies in environmental chemistry at Dresden University of Technology. His research focused on the assessment of the environmental hazard of hydrogen carrier systems, with the objective of advancing the 'Benign by Design' approach in hydrogen storage technology.

Since November 2024, Yohan has been working as a postdoctoral researcher on the CoModHaz project. His role is to investigate the hazards of ionic surfactants on human health and the environment, with a particular focus on integrating high-throughput screening biodegradation with high-throughput screening bioassays.
