FLEXSIGNAL
Concepts for a demand-driven, cost-effective and climate friendly electricity production from bioenergy plants
Coordinator at the UFZ:
Project duration:
01/2019 - 12/2020
Description:
In an electricity system with increasing proportions of volatile energy sources, bioenergy plants can make an important contribution to supply security and grid stability through demand-oriented electricity production. Technically, many plants are already able to produce electricity flexibly. Flexsignal investigates possibilities to promote flexible operating modes, which are economically and ecologically advantageous.
The aim of the project is the development and validation of concepts that stimulate a demand-oriented (flexible) electricity production through bioenergy plants. These concepts should be made accessible to various stakeholders (politicians, plant operators, other market participants) in order to increase the share of flexibly produced electricity in the medium term.
