The Virtual Special Issue "Agricultural and forest biomass for food, materials and energy: bio-economy as the cornerstone to cleaner production and more sustainable consumption patterns for accelerating the transition towards equitable, sustainable, post fossil-carbon societies" at the Journal of Cleaner Production, which has been co-organized by Alberto Bezama, has come to an end with the publication of the review "The Potential Roles of Bio-Economy in the Transition to Equitable, Sustainable, Post Fossil-Carbon Societies: Findings from this virtual special issue," which analyses the 68 papers accepted that were accepted in this issue, and provides recommendations for research in the bioeconomy field.
