Research interests
I am interested in the influence of various global change factors on microbial communities in soils. I investigate the effects of drought, salinisation and pollutants on the activity of microbial communities, their structure and the functions to which they contribute. On the side of the pollutants, a major focus is on veterinary medicines (i.e. antibiotics), which enter soils mainly via fertlilization of agricultural land. In agroecosystems, various global change factors act at the same time and it is thus necessary to obtain a better understanding on their single and combined effects on soil functions and plant health.
