Haalck Inga

Curriculum Vitae

Inga is a PhD student at the Department of Effect-Directed Analysis since October 2022. Her work focusses on wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) and includes the development of analytical methods (LC-HRMS; non-target & suspect screening) to establish new biomarkers that reveal the exposure to different contaminants. The work will be part of the European Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals (PARC).

Inga studied Environmental Sciences at Leuphana University Lüneburg (B.Sc.). She completed her Bachelor thesis as well as her subsequent Master studies at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Uppsala. In her Master thesis, Inga performed a WBE study that aimed to analyze possible changes in the eating behavior of Swedish communities during the pandemic by analyzing artificial sweeteners in wastewater. Additionally, she assessed the suitability of different population biomarkers to predict the population size of Swedish communities for future WBE studies.
