Dr. C. Perez del Pulgar Frowein

I am a social environmental scientist conducting research at the intersection of urban geography, political ecology and socio-technical transition studies. My current work focuses on the political ecology of urban sustainable mobility transitions. I explore how these transitions emerge and are maintained, examining the influence of accumulated crisis and conflicts; the connection between mobility practices and power structures in society and the places of extraction -both urban and non-urban- that underpin urban mobility transitions. From 2016-2021 I was a PhD Candidate at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA) and of the Barcelona Lab for Urban Environmental Justice and Sustainability (BCNUEJ) at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB) in Spain. My doctoral research investigated the political and social production of green-playful infrastructures in cities and its implications for wellbeing. I hold a MSc in Human Geography from the Universiteit van Amsterdam and a Bachelor in Political Science from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
