Research
My research focus on the study and optimization of heterologous B12-shuttle protein production in the framework of the CoMet project which consists in an innovative methylation modular system to potentially transform the current methylation reactions in the chemistry industry.
In addition, I am interested in the metabolism of organohalide-respiring bacteria and anaerobic fermenting bacteria, specifically aiming to gain deeper insights into the enzymatic complexes or machinery involved in dehalogenating reactions. To achieve this, a combination of biochemical approaches, including native-PAGE, chromatography, heterologous expression, activity assays, and mass spectrometry, can be applied.
