Research
My research is embedded in the project FINEST (Fine particles back into the raw material cycle) within the framework of the Sustainability Challenge of the Helmholtz Association. Our objective is to isolate and characterize bacteria and hydrolytic key enzymes capable to degrade microplastic and phthalate plasticizers. The isolated strains will be characterized physiologically as well as biochemically and assessed as candidates for future biotechnological applications.
