Im Rahmen von VR-EX entwickelt das UFZ in Zusammenarbeit mit der BGR für Swisstopo ein immersives Serious Game für die Wissenschaftskommunikation zum Mont Terri URL. Die Anwendung wird für die Virtual Reality Brille Oculus Quest 3 entwickelt und vermittelt so - anders andere klassische Methoden der Wissenschaftskommunikation - einen lebendigen und interaktiven Eindruck. Inhalt des Serious Games ist der Ablauf eines Experiments (ERT-Messungen im Rahmen des CD-A Experiments) von der Planung, über die Durchführung, bis zur Auswertung und Visualisierung der Ergebnisse. So werden die Forschungsfelder Serious Games und virtuelle Exkursionen kombiniert um der breiten Öffentlichkeit einen lebhaften Eindruck der Forschung zu vermittelt und zusätzlich die interdisziplinäre und internationale Zusammenarbeit in der Forschung sichtbar zu machen.

Within the scope of VR-EX, UFZ is developing an immersive serious game for science communication on the Mont Terri URL for Swisstopo. The work is done in collaboration with BGR. The application is being developed for the virtual reality HMD Oculus Quest 3 and - unlike some traditional methods of science communication - conveys a lively and interactive impression of the subject. The content of the serious game is the course of an experiment (ERT measurements as part of the CD-A experiment) from the planning and execution to the evaluation and visualization of the results. In this way, the research fields of serious games and virtual excursions are combined to give the general public a lively impression of research and also to make interdisciplinary and international cooperation in research visible.
