Forschungsschwerpunkte / Research interests
I am a landscape ecologist with main experiences in vegetation science. In the field of landscape ecology I am interested in the pattern and processes of ecological systems at different temporal and spatial scales. Here I focus mainly on the influences of past and present changes in land use intensity, landscape structure and climate change on species and functional diversity, and their relation to ecosystem services.
Currently I am involved in the coordination and management of the Helmholtz Research Topic "Landuse, Biodiversity, Ecosystem Services" and the Integrated Projects "Emerging Ecosystems" & "Land Use Conflicts".
