Research Interests
I am an environmental scientist with a focus on global environmental change and policy. My research interests lie at the science-policy interface of biodiversity, supporting the scientific outreach, and policy implications as well as understanding the complexity of human-nature interactions and their need for policy regulation. What are the trade-offs of policies for nature and people? How can science and policy be better linked and mutually supportive to achieve strong and effective biodiversity objectives?
In my role as science-policy coordinator of iDiv, I am particularly interested in supporting scientists in translating their research outputs into policy implications and creating a bridge between science and decision-making. A clear roadmap for implementing biodiversity targets can be a challenge. Therefore, I try to better understand the political and scientific, but also societal needs to support this complex roadmap towards effective implementation.
