Forschung
In meiner Forschung beschäftige ich mich mit räumlich-zeitlichen Dynamiken im Ökosystem Boden und der funktionalen Resilienz in Reaktion zu Umweltfluktuationen. Ich entwickle und nutze mechanistische Simulationsmodelle um Fragestellungen unter verschiedenen Szenarien zu untersuchen. Dabei bin ich vor allem an folgendem interessiert:
- komplexe Systeme so simpel zu beschreiben, dass es möglich ist, die Modeldynamiken zu verstehen
- mit einem systemischen Ansatz das Wissen verschiedener Disziplinen zu nutzen
- Theorie, Simulationsmodelle und empirische Arbeiten zu kombinieren
- unser mechanistisches Verständnis in Bezug auf die dynamische Reaktion von Boden gegenüber fluktuierenden Umweltbedingungen und Landwirtschaftsmaßnahmen zu vertiefen
Zur Zeit arbeite ich im BonaRes Projekt an der Entwicklung des systemischen Bodenmodells BODIUM um den Einfluss von landwirtschaftlichen Maßnahmen auf Funktionen des Bodens unter verschiedenen Bedingungen zu verstehen und vorhersagen zu können. Neben der Produktion konzentrieren wir uns dabei auf den Kohlenstoffspeicher, Nährstoffkreislauf, Wasserspeicher- und filter, sowie Boden als Habitat für Biodiversität.
