1 High-throughput cell-based bioassays

The CITEPro module “High-throughput cell-based bioassays” is used for the testing of single chemicals, mixtures and environmental samples with a battery of reporter gene assays and high-content microscopy using mammalian and fish cells. Diverse pipetting robots and dispensers (1-3) are used to prepare the experiments and dose the samples. Stringent quality control is assured by routinely monitoring cell confluency by an Incucyte S3 microscope (5). Detection of reporter proteins is performed with a plate reader (6) automated imaging with advanced image analysis, this method allows for the simultaneous measurement of multiple cellular parameters (morphology, viability) and functional imaging (mitochondrial activity and genotoxicity) as well as cell painting (7).
