Lab Experimental Platforms
at the Department of Soil Ecology
Experimentation in the TrophinOak platform aims at studying the impact of the endogenous rhythmic growth (ERG) of the Quercus robur L. clone DF159 on multitrophic and abiotic interactions under controlled conditions.
Omics analyses of soil communities are performed in the wet-lab using Illumina MiSeq and Oxford Nanopore Minion sequencers and by developing bioinformatics solution for UFZ’s High Performance Computing Cluster.
Development and maintenance of the Analytic Pipe Line of Soil Eco-indicators (APPLE) based on biomass, respiration, growth, enzymes, biomolecules, isotopes, stoichiometry, energy & C use efficiency.
