PhD Initiative 2013: Reactive Transport Modeling and Experiments

March 26, 2013
Leipzig, Germany
Scope
Reactive transport in porous and fractured media has become an increasingly important research topic for many applications in environmental science and engineering such as waste management, geothermal energy, soil and groundwater remediation, etc.
The first workshop was organized in conjunction with the OpenGeoSys annual community meeting in 2012 by Dr. Lippmann-Pipke (HZDR). Since then, we have received an overwhelming amount of requests by several PhD students and institutions to join the initiative, and from this sprang the idea to organize those workshops for PhD students regularly at different locations and establish a PhD initiative for “Reactive Transport Modeling.”
