Background
Feliks Kiszkurno obtained his Bachelor of Science in Geosciences from the University of Bremen and Master of Science in Applied Geophysics from IDEA League (TU Delft, ETH Zürich, RWTH Aachen). He is working on his PhD at TUBAF and UFZ on numerical modeling and uncertainty quantification in the context of nuclear waste storage in deep geological repositories.

URS / MeQUR
2022-2024
As part of the URS (Uncertainties and Robustness with regard to the Safety of a repository for high-level radioactive waste) project (MeQUR subproject - Methods for the quantification of uncertainty and robustness) I have worked on the investigation of uncertainties of process selection with UQ/SA methods and numerical simulations (OpenGeoSys). This work was done based on the extension of various processes (THM, THhydro, THuni) with thermo-osmosis.
URS and MeQUR were funded by BGE (Federal Company for Radioactive Waste Disposal).
ThORN
2024-present
ThORN aims at designing and building an in-situ experiment to quantify the impact of thermo-osmosis on pressurization under nuclear waste repository conditions. It will be built in an underground research laboratory in Bure in France.
This project is funded by BASE (Federal Office for the Safety of Nuclear Waste Management) and is executed with partners from France (ANDRA and BRGM) and Belgium (SCK/CEN).
