Outline
The six-year project “Paisajes Futuros / Future Landscapes − Implementation and Financing of Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) by the Food and Agriculture Sector to Reduce Climate Risk and Environmental Impacts in Latin America” is financed by the German Government’s International Climate Initiative (IKI) and coordinated by The Nature Conservancy (TNC), with the UN’s Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and Nestlé as additional consortium partners. The project will be implemented in Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, and Paraguay. Main objective is to foster substantial advances in the large scale transition towards sustainable/regenerative agricultural systems.

The UFZ’s role in the project is to conduct and coordinate research activities as well as science-policy-practice advice. The thematic foci are co-design of policy and finance options, analysis of narratives, behaviour change of actors along the value chain, as well as evaluation and safeguarding of the multi-dimensional economic, social, and environmental benefits of a transition to regenerative agriculture.
