1. Purpose and function of the AGG Complaints Office

The UFZ is committed to providing a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment. The AGG Complaints Office is the point of contact for all UFZ employees and for applicants as well in cases of discrimination under the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG). It receives formal complaints in accordance with Section 13 AGG, reviews them, and coordinates further action in response to allegations of discrimination. It advises affected persons on the AGG; for example, if it is unclear whether an incident falls under the AGG or how a complaint or the complaint procedure is formally conducted.

Important: The AGG Complaints Office is not a contact point for anonymous complaints or general concerns and dissatisfaction. It takes action when a suspicion of discrimination or disadvantage is reported to it that concerns a legally protected characteristic under the AGG. This applies both to incidents arising within the employment relationship and to possible disadvantages in the application and selection process.

Together, we want to create an inclusive and discrimination-free working environment at the UFZ. To achieve this, we need your support: Be mindful in your interactions with your colleagues. Do not look away if you notice discrimination or disadvantage, but address problems openly or seek support.
