Monitoring data of the water quality from Lake Scharmützel

Current measurement data from Lake Scharmützel

As part of the project "Algae Monitor", the Department Lake Research has installed a measuring buoy on Lake Scharmützel, which uses appropriate sensors to automatically measure the water temperature, electrical conductivity, oxygen content and chlorophyll content every 15 minutes with high temporal resolution. The data is transmitted by a data logger via remote data transmission to the UFZ's data management portal, where it can be viewed on this website.

For technical reasons, the data are currently only updated once a day, at 3 a.m., and is then available for viewing backdated for 30 days.

The measurements serve as a reference for comparison with satellite images from the Sentinel satellites S2 and S3 from ESA's Copernicus programme.
