Global soil moisture

Overview: The S1-DPA dataset offers a global 1-km resolution soil moisture (SM) product, designed for applications in hydrology, meteorology, ecology, and agriculture. Developed using Sentinel-1 synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data and a dual-polarization algorithm, the dataset provides reliable global coverage from 2016 to 2022. It includes observations from both ascending and descending satellite passes, with revisit intervals of 3–6 days for Europe and 6–12 days for other regions.
