Research Security in International Cooperation
Environmental changes represent a global challenge with different impacts from the local to the international level. This challenge can only be addressed through international scientific cooperation. However, such cooperation can be associated with risks that should be adequately considered.
One of the objectives of the project InHand@UFZ – Institutionalizing Research Security at the UFZ is to raise awareness of the risks of international cooperation. To this end, UFZ scientists are to be provided with practical tools and processes developed to enable them to deal with these risks responsibly and to make decisions.
The existing administrative processes are to be improved and access to tools and processes is to be bundled so that they are easy for scientists to access. The establishment of a consulting service for scientists on opportunities and potential risks in planned projects and the creation of a decision-making process are among the core tasks of InHand@UFZ.
The project is being funded by the Helmholtz Association from the Initiative and Networking Fund for three years.
