Human Resources


The Human Resources department is the main point of contact for all matters concerning human resources at the UFZ. Its range of services covers all areas of a modern human resources management and the entire spectrum of a worker’s cycle of employment at the UFZ:

This starts with writing job offers, shortlisting applications and providing support in interviews and extends to providing support in joint appointment processes, supervising all employee groups in all personnel and legal issues and helping with matters associated with resignations.

The Human Resources Department is the main contact point for apprenticeships and the dual (vocational/ academic) study course at the UFZ.

  • dual study courses together with the University of Cooperative Education in information technology,  business information technology, environmental technology and biotechnology

The International Office provides special supervision and orientation for employees and guests from abroad, offering them assistance with administrative formalities and supporting their new start in Germany.

The UFZ is certified according to the audit "family and careers“ and the respective assistance that it offers to help achieve a work-family life balance is very diverse. For example, the UFZ can offer working parents a certain number of child care places at nurseries/pre-schools in the close vicinity of the UFZ. Furthermore, there are other various offers to help unite work and family life. Moreover, there is a very active equal opportunities working group at the UFZ.
