Dini-Andreote Lab

Our group aims to harness the microbiome to mitigate plant biotic and abiotic stresses for sustainable agriculture. Research interests fit at the interface of the fields of ecology and microbiology. we are interested in studying the ecological and evolutionary processes that generate and maintain microbial diversity (the causes of biodiversity). In addition, we seek to understand the implications of microbial diversity for plant-soil-microbiome functioning (the consequences of biodiversity). Our research uses various tools, including molecular biology, bioinformatics, statistical and simulation modelling, laboratory experiments, field surveys, and whole-ecosystem manipulations.
