Step 1: Career Talks - Make the most of it Panel discussion Denise Chilton (Expert) Dr. Silvia Crosetto (Postdoc, GFZ) Prof. Dr. Annika Jahnke (Research Group Leader, UFZ) Prof. Michael Kühn (Section Head, GFZ) Markus Schleuning (PhD, Representative of the DocTeam, HZB) This session is all about how to get the most out of Career Talks, both for early career scientists as well as PIs. The session will begin with short improv sketches and continue with a panel discussion. Questions that will be addressed are for instance: How can early career scientists and PIs have an honest and rewarding discussion of career plans and prospects? What preparation do you really need? How can you confidently address uncomfortable issues?
![]() My profession: I am a career coach and leadership development facilitator based in Liverpool, supporting researchers and academics in Universities in the UK. For the past 2 years I have been a career coach on the Prosper programme, a new approach to career development that unlocks postdocs’ potential enabling them to thrive in multiple career pathways. Outside academia I work with early career and senior leaders and their teams across a range of business sectors helping them to have more fulfilling professional and personal lives.
