School Holiday Camps 2024

For two holiday weeks the summer camp 2024 took place in Leipzig.

Quelle: Aleksandra Chwolka Wald&Wiese Paunsdorf During the summer camp weeks, a total of 38 children in mixed-age groups from 6 to 12 were able to explore the Leipzig Science Park under the motto ""Discovering cycles in nature: by the water and elsewhere", conduct research together and take part in excursions. The latter took the children to Dölitzer Wassermühle, the Leipzig Botanical Garden and the "Forest & Meadow" garden.

There were also games and sports activities. The children learned about  about the natural water cycle as well as visible and virtual water consumption in a hands-on program organized by the KinderUmweltbus team. They got creative while working with natural materials.

All in all, it were eventful weeks for the children, in which many new friendships were made in addition to exciting activities.

Many thanks to Henrike Müller and their team from Amöba - Verein für Umweltbildung e.V. for organizing the camp, to Katharina Klauer and Lena for designing the hands-on program with the KinderUmweltbus, and to all the other participants in the Science Park.

We look forward to seeing you again at the 2025 summer camp, which will again be offered in the last two weeks of the vacation season.
