Polina

Polina has obtained a M.Sc. in Marine Biology at the University of Bremen in Germany. Her thesis research focused on the characterization of the organochemical contamination of a coastal lagoon in Indonesia and its potential toxicity to benthic organisms.

Before coming to Germany, she received her B.Sc. in Environmental Sciences at the University of Guelph (Canada), where she specialized in environmental monitoring and water resources.

During her studies and working experience, she has explored different water-related topics, including environmental toxicology, climate change and species protection. In her current work she is investigating the impact of pesticides on water quality and biodiversity in streams in the context of intensified land use due to current and/or projected fuel crop cultivation.
