The project “Wilde Mulde” combines the implementation of river revitalisation measures, supervised by an interdisciplinary team of researchers, with efforts to analyse causal relationships between water structure and run-off characteristics on the one hand, and biodiversity and ecosystem functions on the other. The principle aim of the Evaluation and Synthesis Work Package is to perform a cross-functional and multi-species analysis of recorded parameters from the fields of hydraulics and hydromophology, matter balances, and biodiversity. This will help achieve an integrative sensing and assessment of the effects of re-vitalisation measures in floodplain ecosystems. The open position is closely linked to an affiliated partner in the project, the University of Leipzig.
