| Abstract | Current Policy Brief is aimed at providing a comprehensive analysis of the options on how to provide financial support during the COVID19 pandemic in the EU. A special emphasis has been paid to the financial mechanisms with regard to the possible recurrent nature of the pandemic. Also, the common features of the COVID19 pandemic and the financial turmoil in 2008 as the sources of a systemic risk have been addressed. As a result, recommendations of this Policy Brief focused on the establishment of the Pandemic Financial Facility (PFF) under the management of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). |
