Abstract | The paper reviews empirical methods that could be mobilised to evaluate the concept of a costeffective policymix for biodiversity conservation in a given lanscape, by employing ‘policyscape’ as the spatial expression of the policy mix. Empirical methods that can be used to evaluate combinations of policy instruments in specific landscapes are compared. Case study examples from the literature are reviewed and we identify theoretical and data commonalities between methodologies. The paper concludes with methodology recommendations for spatial evaluation of the cost-effectiveness of economic instruments in combination with regulatory instruments. |
