Abstract For the derivation of input parameters for mesoscale water and matter balance models and assessment procedures such as ABIMO, SWAT and ArcEGMO as well as for the evaluation of erosion risk potential differently aggregated data sets of the Corine Land Cover (CLC) classification had been utilized. The paper discusses the applicability of the CLC data for the approaches on different scales. Moreover, CLC was used to create a web-based GIS for visualization of the results of the flood mapping of the Mulde river 2002 (Haase et al. 2003a).
