Abstract Potentially adverse effects of MNP to the environment will automatically affect humans. Hence, this report integrates the information on human exposure  and hazard (from different work packages within PlasticsFatE) with results obtained for environmental species. All relevant regulations as well as activities and projects from the nano-specific risk assessment are considered. The environmental part of the integrated RA strategy will cover all human health relevant environments (i.e. agricultural soils, water and ambient air) including both functional (e.g. soil respiration) and structural (e.g. species diversity) components. Besides the safety of the environment, the integrated strategy will also enable early identification of MP/NP of high concern for further testing and will be open for read across of some aspects (e.g. in silico, in vitro results) of the human health strategy. In addition, the integrated RA strategy will take mixture exposure (particles and associated chemicals or adsorbed environmental contaminants) and mechanistic aspects into account. Robust modelling approaches will be used and decision support tools are implemented to foster future integrated risk assessment for MNP.
