| Abstract | We present a metapopulation model concerning the viability of the endangered grasshopper species Bryodema tuberculata occurring on gravel bars of alpine and dealpine rivers as its only refuges in Central Europe. Considering the disturbance regime exerted by floods we show that viability depends on the temporal reularity even more than on the frequency of the floods in terms of the range of interest. |
