Abstract | This study aimed to compare the health effects of different airborne pollutants under the meteorological and air pollution conditions of Santiago de Chile. We found adverse relationships between increasing pollution concentrations of all investigated pollutants except ozone and the risks for hospital admissions due to cardiovascular diseases. Adverse effects were strongest immediately up to a lag of two days. Exposure to ozone was not found to be associated with detrimental health effects. |
