Further education program

Our further education program offers all employees a wide range of opportunities to develop their skills. Tailored to different employee groups and levels of experience, the trainings provide added value for current tasks and inspiration for future development steps. In addition to externally commissioned trainings, we offer German and statistics courses and the HIGRADE graduate program as part of our in-house team expertise.

Pinktum Academy

The Pinktum Academy provides registered users with a digital learning platform that enables self-directed, practical, multilingual, video-based learning anytime, anywhere. There are currently over 400 e-training courses to choose from, covering topics such as management, team development, IT, and artificial intelligence.

Compulsory Courses

Our compulsory courses allow us to establish and uphold quality standards and teach essential skills:

  • Doctoral students in the graduate program HIGRADE complete the compulsory courses Doing your PhD, Finish Your PhD & go on, and Good Scientific Practice
  • Researchers and research-related staff regularly attend training courses on good scientific practice.
  • Managers participate in training courses on communication and recruitment.

Career Coffee Talks

The Coffee Talks combine a brief keynote speech with the opportunity to network and exchange ideas. Usually online, they take place on the second Thursday of every month from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and are open to all employees and guests.

Statistics Snacks

Statistics Snacks are a face-to-face format that offers short learning units on statistical topics and discussions of best practices in statistical data analysis. Currently, they are available specifically at our Halle and Magdeburg locations, followed by on-site statistics consultations.

International Café

The International Café is an open event format for cultural exchange and serves to connect international employees and visiting scientists with their German colleagues at the UFZ. Integration and social community are fostered through excursions, museum visits, readings and intercultural celebrations.

Career Day

Our annual Career Day offers information, workshops, and networking opportunities related to careers. Although it is primarily intended for postdoctoral and doctoral students, all employees are welcome to attend.
