Helmholtz Environmental Lecture (HEL) is a event series through which the UFZ aims to engage in deeper dialogue with leading figures from the worlds of science, business and politics on the environmental challenges facing humanity.

The HEL is aimed not only at researchers from the UFZ, universities and other scientific institutions, but equally at opinion leaders from the worlds of politics and business, the media and the general public. The lectures examine current issues, societal developments and areas for political action in the context of the environment, climate and sustainability. Through this series of events, the UFZ aims to strengthen the discourse on the role of science in times of global environmental change and to provide food for thought on shaping our future responsibly.

Please make a note of the date for the next Helmholtz Environmental Lecture. Further information will follow shortly.
