UFZ EnergyDays 2019
Sustainable Energy Carriers and Energy Storage/Management
8 and 9 October 2019, KUBUS Leipzig
The Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ welcomes you to the EnergyDays 2019 in Leipzig, Germany. On 8 and 9 October 2019, the Integrated Project (IP) Sustainable Biotechnology and Bioeconomy in cooperation with IP Energy Land Use and IP From Models to Prediction invites you to attend this year’s EnergyDays. The event aims at providing an overview of energy-related research at the UFZ with a special emphasis on “Sustainable Energy Carriers and Energy Storage/Management”.
Recent advances in research on eco-efficient energy production and management in the following subjects will be presented and discussed:
- Climate Change and its impact on renowable energy sources
- Sustainable Transformations by (Bio-)Electrochemical Reactions
- Storage (and waste): Biogeochemistry of energy underground storage
- Modelling and numerical analysis of coupled multiphysics processes of geological thermal energy storage
- Photobiotechnology – Photosynthesis-driven H2-production
- Conversion of surplus electricity to energy carriers and higher value chemicals (Power-to-X)
- Decarbonizing urban heating and cooling systems
Keynote speakers
- Andreas Schmid, Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ, Department Solar Materials
- Daniela Thrän, Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ, Department Bioenergy
Venue: KUBUS Leipzig, Permoserstraße 15 / 04318 Leipzig
