The Helmholtz Research School ESCALATE
The research school ESCALATE was operating between 2013 and 2021 and funded by the Helmholtz association, the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research – UFZ, the University of Leipzig, the Martin-Luther-University of Halle-Wittenberg. ESCALATE educated an interdisciplinary group of young scientists from these institutions to conduct research in the field of Ecosystem Services.
Over the course of its running time ESCALATE hosted over 20 international PhD students which have now moved on to new positions within and beyond science. Furthermore, ESCALATE conducted five international synthesis projects offering innovative education to PhD students from around the globe.
ESCALATE finished its operation in 2021 with HIGRADE, the Helmholtz Interdisciplinary GRADuate School for Environmental Research continuing it's mission for doctoral education at the UFZ.
