Leonie Schweiger

Research interests

Leonie obtained her master's degree in "Environmental Science and Technology" from the Technical University of Berlin, specializing in environmental chemistry and water quality. In her master's thesis, she developed a model in Python for the fate of trace substances from stormwater discharges, in order to estimate their concentrations in Danish watercourses after rainfall events and thus their ecotoxicological impacts. Since March 2024, Leonie has been working as a research associate in our working group, focusing on the exposure and effects of pesticides in aquatic ecosystems. Her focus is on modeling pesticide concentrations and effects in watercourses based on land use, different application scenarios, environmental parameters, and substance properties.
