Messtechnische Eigenentwicklungen
Das SPINMAS-System erlaubt die präzise, schnelle und vollautomtisierte Messung der Konzentration und 15N-Häufigkeit von NH4+, NO2- oder NO3- in wässrigen Proben (Bsp. Bodenlösung). Es besteht aus einer automatisierten Probenauf- bereitungseineit für anorganische N-Verbindungen (Sample Preparation for Inorganic Nitrogen), welche an ein Quadrupol-Massenpektrometer (GAM 400, InProcess Instruments) gekoppelt ist.

Das entwickelte System erlaubt die prozessorientierte Online-Messung bodebürtiger N2O- sowie N2-Freisetzung in einem offenen System (steady-state) mittels künstlicher Atmosphäre und 15N-Tracer-Technik. In Abhängigkeit der verwendeten mathematischen Ansätze können nitrifikatorische, denitrifikatorische und codenitrifikatorische N2O-Freisetzung, sowie die denitrifikatorische und codenitrifikatorische N2-Freisetzung gleichzeitig bestimmt werden. Die Probennahme im Trägergaststrom erfolgt mittels Kryofokusierung (fl. N2) für N2O und mittels Molsieb (Köstrolith SX6, Chemiwerke Bad Köstritz GmbH) für N2. Konzentration und 15N-Häufigkeit wird durch ein IRMS delta S (Finnigan MAT) bestimmt.
