Letzte Woche fand die Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft für Reproduktionsforschung (SRI) in Vancouver, Kanada, statt. Ana Zenclussen und zwei unserer medizinischen Promovierenden präsentierten ihre aktuellen Forschungsergebnisse.

Die Mitteldeutsche Zeitung berichtete kürzlich über unser Kooperationsprojekt mit dem Städtischen Klinikum Dessau, bei dem wir mit Hilfe von Plazentaorganoiden den Einfluss von Umwelteinflüssen während der Schwangerschaft auf die Entwicklung des Kindes untersuchen wollen. Am 30./31.01.2024 fand das Kick-off-Meeting für unser von der EU gefördertes Projekt ENDOMIX im Kubus statt. Es waren zwei tolle, motivierende Tage mit produktiven Diskussionen und viel Engagement und wir freuen uns jetzt, dass es endlich richtig losgehen kann!

Am 18.01.2024 fand das 17. Research Festival for Life Sciences an der Universität Leipzig statt. Dr. Tobias Kretschmer präsentierte ein Poster über seine Forschung zu endokrinen Disruptoren und deren Wirkung auf die Fertilität.

Wir freuen uns, dass unser neues Forschungsprojekt ENDOMIX, initiiert und koordiniert von Prof. Ana Zenclussen, offiziell am 01. Januar 2024 gestartet ist. In diesem Projekt wollen wir die bislang verborgenen Gefahren hormonell wirksamer Chemikalien (EDCs) erforschen und ihre Auswirkungen auf die menschliche Gesundheit entschlüsseln.

Am 29.11.2023 fand der internationale Workshop "Environment, climate change and health" statt, welcher von der Chiba Universität, Japan, der Universität Leipzig und der Charité Berlin, organisiert wurde. Auch UFZ-Wissenschaftlerinnen stellten ihre Forschung vor und es gab Raum für spannende Diskussionen.

Wir gratulieren unserem Gastwissenschaftler Prof. Dr. Stefan Fest ganz herzlich zu seiner Berufung als Professor an der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Madgeburg.

Das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) gab am 10. November bekannt, dass es den Aufbau von fünf interdisziplinären Zentren zur reproduktiven Gesundheit fördert. Eines der Zentren wird in Leipzig etabliert - unter Beteiligung des UFZ. Mehr Informationen dazu gibt es hier.

Wir gratulieren Prof. Ana Zenclussen zur Ernennung zum Mitglied in der BfR Kommission für Kontaminanten in der Lebensmittelkette für die Sitzungsperiode 2022 bis 2025 und wünschen ihr viel Erfolg!
