Dr. Ying Shao
Ying was part of the Department of Cell Toxicology as a postdoctoral researcher from November 2017 until November 2018. She focused on implementation of the Ames assay and multiplexed E.coli bioassays on the robotic platform. She aimed to run robotic Ames assay and multiplexed E.coli bioassays with water sample for water quality monitoring programs.
Ying studied biology at the University of RWTH Aachen. She joined the Institute for Environmental Research in October 2013, as a PhD student within the project SOLUTIONS. As a part of the project SOLUTIONS, she worked on linking in vitro effects and detected organic micropollutants in surface water and development of bioanalytical test battery for water quality monitoring. In October 2017, she finished her study, and got her PhD degree with thesis on “Supplement chemical analysis and in silico approaches to biological-analytical techniques for priority mixture identification’’.
