The MiBiTox projects gathers data about the unknown role of the human microbiome in interaction with synthetic chemicals from the environment. Do the chemicals influence the microbiome? Or the other way around? And if yes, is the outcome favorable for our body and us humans, toxification or detoxification? My role is to identify possible transformation products via targeted and untargeted analysis from a simplified human gut microbiome(SIHUMIx)to zebrafish to mice and real human gut samples.
