Profile of HIGRADE participants
My colleague introduced the UFZ to me.
I would like to research the ways to biotechnologically valorize agricultural residues for different products. My country (Vietnam) has a lot of agricultural residues; hence, my topic is highly potential for application and research. At UFZ, I have great conditions for researching and learning.
I used to live in Stuttgart before coming to Leipzig. Compared to Stuttgart, the cost of living in Leipzig is much lower and it is reasonable for a student’s life. Another interesting point about Leipzig is that there is a big Vietnamese market here where I can find Vietnamese food and things which make me feel that I am not far away from my country.
The UFZ is a great center about environmental research. HIGRADE is also a good program which enables PhD students to achieve knowledge and experience besides those obtained from their research. Generally, I really like the UFZ and HIGRADE.
